Supporting Parent
Carers in East Yorkshire
Representing the voices of parents and
carers to create better outcomes for families
of children and young people with special
educational needs and/or disabilities
(SEND) in East Riding.

East Yorkshire Parent Carer Forum

Founded in 2009, we are a voluntary group of parent and carers who have children and young people (0-25) with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

Our aim is to ensure parents and carers are involved in shaping the services in the area.

We do this by gathering the views of families finding out what is important to them and then work in partnership with the local authority, educational settings, health providers , voluntary services.

We have a steering group of parent carers who lead on the work and organise forum activities, all have a personal experience of children and young people with SEND.
